Take your trash to the bank
This Indonesian bank creates bank accounts and pays cash into it for people who bring in recyclable garbage. The waste is recycled on and sold to manufacturers for reuse. Backed by the municipality (which has a problem with waste, so they have a vested interest), it’s a model that could be far more widely used.
